After my time at the Chatuchak Market in Bangkok (here), I also wanted to visit the Barcelona food market – the Mercado de la Boqueria at Las Ramblas. I heard so much about this Barcelona food market, so I had to go there immediately.
I love these places, fruits, vegetables and most times fresh fish and meat – and all people speaking to each other – to see the real life and that is one of the reasons, which also makes these markets so interesting and popular.
The „Mercado de la Boqueria“ is located on one side of Las Ramblas, the most famous shopping street in Barcelona with a small entrance and in good walking distance to the Monument of Columbus. I will post about Las Ramblas separately, with more photos.
If you like to visit this place, I recommend to be there in the morning and just enter to one of the main walkways and then select two or three rows behind, to get a better impression with less people and tourists walking around.
Compared to different food markets worldwide, the Mercado de la Boqueria in Barcelona had no problems with photography – so one of the reason for all these colorful photos. I hope you like them and want to leave a comment below or share the posting with one of your networks 🙂
